Calyx et le Timbre is produced by Jasmine & Yuri Zinenko on Wurundjeri land in the Upper Yarra. Their property is in Millgrove at the base of Mount Donna Buang, along the Yarra River.

With a love of all things fermentable, they are working towards their goal of growing nutrient rich grapes, among other crops, with diversity and conservation a priority. In addition to making small batches wine, they run Vinoshis, a neighbourhood bottle shop & wine bar in Melbourne.

Yuri’s label Calyx began in 2017 with a small batch of Shiraz whilst working at Mount Langhe Ghiran in the Victorian Pyrenees. Yuri has studied winemaking and worked over 16 harvests in wineries across Australia and abroad in France, USA, Canada and New Zealand.

Jasmine’s label le timbre was created in 2015 with one tonne of Shiraz whilst studying viticulture and working as a Sommelier. Her love of Riesling led her to the Mosel in Germany where she worked in the Trossen’s biodynamic vineyards leading up to and during the 2017 harvest.

In 2024 Calyx et le Timbre was created. It has been a long time in the making, so every bit of support makes a big difference to our livelihood and achieving our goals. We’re learning more and more that good things take time and to enjoy the journey.
